Jardin Majorelle

Jardin Majorelle
French painter Jacques Majorelle created and designed Jardin Majorelle over the course of 40 years. Beginning in 1922, he populated his garden with exotic botanicals from all corners of the world. To save it from hotel developers, French designer Yves Saint Laurent purchased and lived in the villa from the 1980s, renaming it the Villa Oasis. After visiting Jardin Majorelle, I never saw the colors blue and yellow in the same way ever again.
“For many years, the Jardin Majorelle has provided me with an endless source of inspiration, and I have often dreamt of its unique colours.”
– Yves Saint Laurent
